Neuroscience Conference 10/06

Justin gave a poster presentation entitled Influence of background glutamate on synaptic transmission in a Monte Carlo model of hippocampal neuropil at a Neuroscience Conference in Atlanta. This picture below shows what a poster presentation looks like. Lots of people who look just like you'd expect them to look walking and discussing serious stuff about the brain. Justin looked more like a California skater than a neuroscientist but I somehow don't have a picture of that.

Ironically, the presentation was right across the street from a Falcons/Detroit football game. Both crowds eyed the other suspiciously.

Why a very good digital camera is useful.

I don't know what this is but I think it's really cool.

The garden had been filled with Chihuly artwork a week earlier and this was the only piece that was left.

The garden also had a variety of weird scarecrows (like the one below) scattered throughout the woods.

As usual, our food was superb but Larry surprised us all with a spur-of-the moment choice for this pub that had some of the best food we ate for really cheap prices.

I didn't realize when I booked our room that I had Larry and I at a high class pimp hotel.

Biggest tires I have ever seen in my life.
